Jun 01 2018 · The present paper is a continuation of previous ones focused on the characterization of alumina-magnesia-carbon refractories (AMC) bricks. Unlike those characterised materials which only have aluminium as an antioxidant a brick also containing silicon is comparatively analysed in this paper. For steel ladle applications resin-bonded alumina magnesia carbon bricks have become an important refractory lining product development. When blended with various levels of magnesia and higher qualities of fused alumina these brick qualities offer cost-effective refractory performance for the steel ladle.
